Ayahuasca retreats vs ceremonies: Does the price justify quality?

Jungle ayahuasca retreat hut.

We have been working with Ayahuasca for many years in the form of individual retreats, not ceremonies. What is the difference, and why did we choose retreats?

A retreat is a long (from a week to several months) one-on-one work with a plant. The ceremony is a group event led by a “leader” – a shaman who sets the direction of the ceremony and controls the processes to some extent, and the participants drink Ayahuasca, and after a few hours they disperse.

Difference 1. Individuality.

The retreat is initially configured to work with a specific person, taking into account their characteristics, needs and goals. An Ayahuasca is selected that is suitable for this particular person, or even brewed specifically for him. Additional plants are often selected that help Ayahuasca to work out the most relevant aspects.

The duration and mode of the retreat are also individual. Different goals require different time and intensity.

Ceremonies do not allow you to configure all these parameters. For more imagery, we can make such a comparison: ceremonies are like a mass market, and retreats are individual tailoring. Mass market – fast, cheap, convenient for the manufacturer, you can reach a large number of people at once. Individual tailoring – the output is exactly the result that you need. It takes longer, requires more attention and active involvement in the process, but just as clothes sewn individually fit perfectly and serve for a long time, so the retreat answers exactly your questions, gives deep changes that are gradually woven into everyday life and bring it to a qualitatively different level.

What about the price? By analogy with mass market and individual tailoring, individual is usually more expensive. According to our observations, the prices for retreats are approximately at the level of other centers offering ceremonies. Why not more expensive?

Working with plants is the primary goal and meaning of the existence of Home of Ayahuasca, and the commercial part is what allows us to realize this goal. The pricing policy is built so that Home of Ayahuasca functions and develops, and is reasonable. You come to us directly, without intermediaries, travel agencies, etc. Accordingly, there are no unnecessary markups.

Difference 2. Steady and profound changes.

In working with Ayahuasca, as with other plants, really serious changes occur gradually, and they take time. The body is cleansed, the processes in the body are normalized, the bodily, energy, mental “clamps” that interfere with life are removed. Gradually, more free energy appears, which goes to the improvement of the body and spirit. Thanks to the retreat, these processes go smoothly, without interruptions.

Difference 3. Independent actions = efficiency.

The effect of plants is not limited to a few hours. Work in the retreat takes place around the clock. A complete exit from social life and everyday worries makes it possible to release attention and energy, and redirect them to reconstructing yourself.

In the retreat, day after day, a person accumulates the intention to change. Daily activities, such as self-preparation of herbal teas and baths, dietary meals, practices of staying “in the moment”, recapitulation and cleaning of “mental junk”, gradually focus attention and energy on healing and development. This leads to the formation of a powerful “tandem” of a person with an Ayahuasca and rapid promotion.

Difference 4. Not only Ayahuasca.

Ayahuasca is the most famous and one of the strongest plants of the Amazonian selva. But there are other equally strong plants. The form of retreats allows you to work with serious plants-guides to the world of shamanism and dreaming, such as mapachochiric sanangocamalonga, ajo sacha.

For healing, plants can be used that remove malfunctions and establish the right balance in specific organs and organ systems. In retreats, healing plants can be used both in pure form and in combination with Ayahuasca. A comprehensive selection of plants ensures the improvement of weak areas of the body.

In general, retreats are a flexibly customized individual form of working with plants, which allows you to move as effectively as possible in the direction that a particular person needs.

Are they worth going to the other side of the Earth, spending time and money? If you have unresolved questions regarding self-development/spiritual development, the meaning of life, health, lifestyle, then the short answer is yes.

The work was amazing. Ayahuasca helped pull out the most stuck traumas that I didn’t even know about, remove the blocks that prevented me from walking through life with confidence and calm, being truly alive, being myself. I could not achieve such a result by working with a psychologist (I am not at all belittling their work now); in a retreat, the work occurs with great intensity and efficiency.
